Studio Update 3
by Shaun
Mar 24, 2008
Hey folks! Just wanted to give you an update on the progress in the studio...Well as I’m sitting here, Jack is in the booth recording vocals for the song "Amazing" and in my opinion that’s exactly how everything has sounded so far. Yesterday, Jack finished up the rhythm guitar for most of the album and then we began the vocal recording process last night, "Shipwrecked" and "Before We Dance" being the first two songs. Michael has just arrived and is getting ready to lay down the rhythm guitar for the final few songs, "Gotta Make Away", "Heaven" and "Let It Go".

It’s gonna be another long, but welcomed day in the vault @ I.V. Labs. We’ll try to keep everyone informed as best as possible on things yet to come!

Studio Update 2

Studio Update: 2

We finished another day in the studio a couple of hours ago; work began on another four songs. For the most part, the recording process has been going smoothly. The guys from the band are really working hard, the songs are sounding great, and Manny Sanchez has already proven he is the right man to engineer this album. It is exciting to see how the songs are evolving in the studio. As an observer of this whole process, let me be the first to tell you this album has the potential to surpass anything you have heard from Stellar Road. Having said this, there is still a ton of work to be done. Hopefully things will continue to go well.

Studio Update 1

Studio Update: 1

Hey Everyone,
I am sitting in the control room of the studio, I.V. Lab, watching Reese set up his drums for the second day of recording. The guys are preparing for another long day—probably around twelve hours. Manny Sanchez (Umphrey's McGee, Plain White T's, Bound Stems) is engineering the album. He is an excellent collaborator and I am confident you all will really love what has been happening in here. Reese played unbelievably well yesterday. The drums are done for four of the songs, ranging from softer sounding pieces, requiring understated, textured percussion, to rhythmically driven, heart-pounding, pulsating rock. After a ten-hour day, everyone was pretty exhausted—then we packed up the cars and headed to DeKalb for a three-hour show at Northern Illinois!
I hope you all are getting excited for the next album. If the first day is sign of what is to come, I can promise an incredible recording!
